Reddit Brand Analyzer

What Reddit thinks of a brand: the sentiment split, what people like, what they complain about, and where.

How it works

What is the Reddit Brand Analyzer?

The Reddit Brand Analyzer is a free tool that shows what Reddit thinks of a brand. It finds threads that mention the brand, drops the ones about something else with the same name, and sorts the rest into positive, neutral and negative, with what people praise, what they complain about and the subreddits where it comes up.

How to use the Reddit Brand Analyzer

  1. In Brand name, enter the brand as people write it on Reddit, such as Notion.
  2. Add What the brand is if the name has other meanings, such as note-taking app.
  3. Pick how far back to look: the past month, the past year, or any time.
  4. Press Analyze brand and read the sentiment split and the summary.
  5. Go through the praise and complaints, then open the threads behind them to read the full discussion.

Why does what Reddit says about a brand matter?

Because buyers check. People searching for a product add "reddit" to the search to find honest opinions, and search engines rank Reddit threads near the top for most product questions. AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Perplexity also draw on Reddit when they describe or recommend a brand. What a handful of threads say can become what thousands of buyers read first, and what an AI repeats when asked.

Reddit opinions also carry weight because they are hard to fake. Users are anonymous, have no reason to be polite to a company, and call out anything that looks like an advert. That makes Reddit one of the most honest sources of feedback a brand can read, and one of the most influential.

How is the sentiment worked out?

Threads that mention the brand are found through search, from three neutral angles: plain mentions, reviews and experiences, and comparisons. None of them looks for complaints on purpose, so the split is not tilted towards them. An AI model reads each thread's title and opening, checks that it is about this brand and not something else with the same name, and judges whether it is positive, neutral or negative towards it.

It reads the start of each thread, not every reply, so treat the split as a direction rather than a measurement. A thread that opens with a question and turns into a long complaint in the replies counts as neutral. Every thread is listed with its rating, so you can open and check any of them.

Turning Reddit mentions into product improvements

The complaints list is a free source of product research. When the same complaint comes up in several threads in different subreddits, it is not one unhappy customer: it is a pattern, described in the customers' own words. Those words are worth using in your roadmap, your help pages and your marketing, because they are how people actually describe the problem.

The praise list matters as much. It tells you what people value enough to mention unprompted, which is often different from what a brand thinks its strengths are. Comparing the two lists across your brand and two or three competitors shows where you stand out and where a competitor is winning on something you could fix.

What should you do about negative threads?

Read them first, all the way through. Many negative threads are a fair complaint that a clear, human reply from the company can turn around, especially if the fix already exists. Reply as the brand, openly, from an account that says who it is, and answer the specific problem rather than posting a statement. Never argue, never ask the person to delete the post, and never reply from an account pretending to be a customer.

For old threads that still rank on search engines, a reply that explains what has changed since helps every future reader. Where the same complaint keeps coming up, it belongs on the product roadmap, not just in replies.

Run the analysis again every month or after a launch, a price change or an outage. The split and the complaints move faster on Reddit than on review sites, so a change shows up here first, and catching a complaint while the thread is new means your reply is read by the people who are still reading it.

Questions

How do I see what Reddit says about my brand?
Enter the brand name here. You get the sentiment split, a short summary, the main praise and complaints, and the threads they come from.
Can I analyse a competitor's brand?
Yes. Enter any brand name. Comparing what people complain about across competitors shows where you can stand out. The Reddit Share of Voice tool compares how often each name comes up.
Why are some mentions missing?
The tool reads the threads search engines rank highest for the brand, not every mention on Reddit. Threads about something else with the same name are dropped; adding What the brand is helps.
How accurate is the sentiment?
It is judged from each thread's title and opening by an AI model, so it is a good guide to the overall mood but can misread sarcasm or a thread that turns halfway through. Open the threads to check.
Why is Reddit feedback different from reviews?
Review sites invite people to rate a product. Reddit threads are people talking about their problems and comparing options unprompted, so they show what customers think when no brand is asking.
Is the Reddit brand analyzer free?
Yes, with a free hyperank account. You can run it twice an hour.
