What is the Instagram Font Generator?

The Instagram Font Generator is a free tool that turns plain text into bold, italic, script, monospace and other styles you can paste into Instagram. Instagram has no font menu for bios or captions, so each style is built from Unicode letters that look bold or italic. Type once and all 17 styles appear, each with a copy button.

How to use the Instagram Font Generator

1. Type your name, a bio line or a caption headline into Your text.
2. Look down the list of styles, from Bold, Italic and Script to Fraktur, Double-struck, Circled and Small caps.
3. Press Copy next to the style you want.
4. Paste it into your bio, the Name field on Edit profile, a caption or a comment.

How do you change the font in your Instagram bio?

Instagram does not offer fonts for your bio, name or captions, but it does accept any Unicode text. Unicode, the standard every phone uses for text, includes whole alphabets of letters drawn in bold, italic, script and other styles. The generator swaps each of your letters for its styled twin.

Because the result is ordinary text, you paste it straight into Edit profile or a caption, and it shows styled on most phones and browsers. Nothing needs to be installed.

Where do Instagram fonts work, and where don't they?

Styled text works in your bio, the Name field on your profile, captions and comments. It does not work in a username, which Instagram limits to plain letters, numbers, periods and underscores. For a styled name at the top of your profile, use the Name field.

Screen readers can read styled letters one at a time, or skip them. Use a style for a name, a heading or a single line, and keep the rest of the bio or caption in plain text so everyone can read it.
