What is the Fake Tweet Generator?
The Fake Tweet Generator is a free tool that builds a mockup of an X post and exports it as a PNG. You set the display name, handle, verified badge, avatar, post text, an attached image, the date and time, and the reply, repost, like, bookmark and view counts, then pick a theme and download the image.
How to use the Fake Tweet Generator
- Fill in Display name and Handle, choose a Verified badge, and upload an Avatar if you want one.
- Write the Post text, and add an Attached image if the post needs one.
- Set the Time and Date, then the Replies, Reposts, Likes, Bookmarks and Views.
- Pick a Theme: Light, Dim or Lights out. The live preview updates as you edit.
- Choose an Export scale of 1×, 2× or 4× size and press Download PNG.
How do you make a realistic fake tweet?
Match the details people notice first. Use a real-looking display name and handle, pick the badge that fits the account, None, Blue, Gold (business) or Gray (government), and set counts in proportion to each other: views well above likes, likes well above replies.
The three themes match X's own Light, Dim and Lights out modes, so pick the one your audience uses. Export at 2× for slides and web pages and 4× where the image will be printed or zoomed. The image is drawn in your browser, and nothing you type or upload leaves it.
Is a fake tweet generator legal to use?
Making a mockup is ordinary design work: pitch decks, ad concepts, teaching material and product screenshots all use them. The risk sits in how the image is used, not in making it.
Label mockups, and do not pass them off as real posts. Putting invented words in a real person's mouth and presenting them as genuine can be impersonation or defamation.
