Live Twitter Follower Counter

A follower count that keeps refreshing while the page is open.

How it works

What is the Live Twitter Follower Counter?

The Live Twitter Follower Counter is a free tool that keeps an X account's follower count current while the page is open. Enter a public handle and it shows followers, following and posts, refreshes the count every minute, and shows how many followers the account has gained or lost since you started watching.

How to use the Live Twitter Follower Counter

  1. Enter the account in the X handle field. The @ is optional, and a profile link works too.
  2. Press Start counter. The follower count appears in large type, with following and posts above it.
  3. Leave the page open. The count refreshes every minute, and Last updated shows the time of the latest refresh.
  4. Watch the line under the count, which shows the followers gained or lost since you opened the page.

How often does a live follower count update?

This counter refreshes once a minute while the page is visible, and shows the time of the last refresh under the number. When you switch to another tab it pauses, and it fetches a fresh count as soon as you come back.

Once a minute is enough to follow a launch, a post that is spreading, or the run-up to a milestone, without keeping X itself open.

Why does an X follower count go up and down?

People follow and unfollow all day, so a count moves in both directions even on a quiet account. The change line under the number shows the net result since you opened the page.

Larger drops usually come from X removing spam and suspended accounts from follower counts. When that happens, a count can fall by more than the account's normal unfollows in a few minutes.

Questions

How do I see someone's follower count on X?
An X account's follower count is shown on its profile, under the bio, next to the number of accounts it follows. Enter the handle here to see the same count refresh every minute while the page stays open.
Why did my Twitter follower count go down?
A Twitter follower count goes down when people unfollow, and when X removes spam, locked or suspended accounts from follower totals. A sudden drop across many accounts at once is usually the second.
Can I keep a follower counter on screen during a live stream?
Yes. Open this counter in a browser window, start it with the handle, and capture that window in your streaming software. It refreshes every minute and shows the change since the page was opened.
