Quote Tweet Generator
A post quoting another post, both editable, in one image.
How it works
What is the Quote Tweet Generator?
The Quote Tweet Generator is a free tool that builds a mockup of an X post quoting another post, and exports both as one PNG. Your post has its own name, handle, badge, text, date and counts. The quoted post has its own name, handle, badge, text, image and date. Pick a theme and download the image.
How to use the Quote Tweet Generator
- Under Your post, fill in the Display name, Handle, Verified badge and Post text, then the date, time and counts.
- Under Quoted post, fill in the Quoted display name, handle and badge, the Quoted text, and a Quoted image if it has one.
- Set the Quoted date and pick a Theme: Light, Dim or Lights out.
- Choose an Export scale and press Download PNG.
What is a quote tweet?
A quote tweet, now called a quote post, is a repost with your own comment on top. Your text comes first, and the original post sits underneath it as a card with its author, text and image.
A plain repost shares the original with no comment. A reply adds your comment inside the original's thread, where it shows under that post rather than in your followers' timelines as a new post.
When is a quote post mockup useful?
Anywhere you need to show a reaction to a post without waiting for one: a campaign plan, a social media brief, a slide on how a launch could play out, or a lesson on how quote posts spread. Both posts are editable, so the quoted one can be yours or an invented example.
Label mockups, and do not pass them off as real posts, least of all when the quoted account belongs to a real person.
Questions
- How to quote tweet on X?
- Tap the repost icon under the post, choose Quote, write your comment above the embedded post and press Post. The original appears as a card under your text.
- Quote tweet vs retweet
- A retweet, now a repost, shares a post unchanged. A quote tweet shares it with your own comment on top, so it reads as a new post by you that includes the original.
- How do you do a quote tweet?
- On X, tap the repost icon on a post and pick Quote, then add your comment and post it. To mock one up instead, fill in both posts in this generator and download the image.
