Fake Twitter Reply Chain Generator

A thread or a back-and-forth of replies, stacked and exported as one image.

How it works

What is the Fake Twitter Reply Chain Generator?

The Fake Twitter Reply Chain Generator is a free tool that stacks two to eight X posts into one image, joined the way X draws a thread. Each post has its own name, handle, badge, avatar, text, time and counts, or reuses the first post's identity. Pick a theme and download it as a PNG.

How to use the Fake Twitter Reply Chain Generator

  1. Fill in Post 1: display name, handle, badge, avatar, text, a time such as 2h or Sep 29, and its counts.
  2. Press Add post for each reply or thread post you need.
  3. For a thread by one account, tick Use same identity as first post. Leave it unticked for a reply from someone else.
  4. Use the arrows to reorder posts or the bin to remove one, and pick a Theme.
  5. Choose an Export scale and press Download PNG.

Reply chain vs thread: what's the difference on X?

A thread is a run of posts by one account, each replying to the one before, so a long piece reads top to bottom. A reply chain is a conversation: posts by different accounts, each answering the last.

X draws both the same way, with a line joining the avatars down the left. This generator does both. Tick Use same identity as first post for a thread, and leave it unticked where someone else replies.

What can you use a thread mockup for?

Planning a thread before you post it, so you can see how the posts read in sequence. Showing a customer exchange in a case study, drafting a social media brief, or teaching how conversations unfold on X.

Label mockups, and do not pass them off as real posts. A made-up exchange presented as a real one misleads the people who read it.
