Twitter Font Generator
Bold, italic, script and monospace text that pastes anywhere X takes text.
How it works
What is the Twitter Font Generator?
The Twitter Font Generator is a free tool that turns plain text into bold, italic, script, monospace and other styles you can paste into X. X has no font menu for bios and display names, so each style is built from Unicode letters that look bold or italic. Type once and all 17 styles appear, each with a copy button.
How to use the Twitter Font Generator
- Type a name, a headline or a short line into Your text.
- Look down the list of styles, from Bold, Italic and Script to Fraktur, Double-struck, Monospace and Small caps.
- Press Copy next to the style you want.
- Paste it into a post, your bio or your display name on X.
How do fancy fonts work on Twitter?
They are not fonts. Unicode, the standard every device uses for text, includes whole alphabets of letters drawn in bold, italic, script and other styles, many of them added for mathematics. The generator swaps each of your letters for its styled twin.
Because the result is ordinary text, it pastes anywhere X takes text: posts, replies, bios and display names. Nothing has to be installed.
Do styled letters count as more characters?
Yes. Styled Unicode letters sit outside the range X counts as 1, so each one counts as 2 toward the 280-character limit of a post and the 160 of a bio. A word in bold uses twice the room of the same word in plain text.
Screen readers can read styled letters one at a time, or skip them, and X search may not match a styled word to its plain spelling. Use styles for a name or a headline, and keep the rest of the post in plain text.
Questions
- How to change font on Twitter?
- X has no font setting for bios, display names or most posts. To change how text looks, type it into this generator, copy the style you want, such as Bold or Script, and paste it into X.
- How to change font on Twitter profile name?
- Type your name into this generator, press Copy next to a style, then open Edit profile on X and paste it into the Name field. Styled letters count as 2 characters each, so a long name can reach the limit sooner.
- Can you bold text on Twitter?
- Yes. Paste bold Unicode letters from this generator into a post, a bio or a display name, and they show as bold for everyone. They are characters, not formatting, so they keep their look wherever the text is copied.
