Free tool
Twitter ID Converter
The permanent numeric ID behind an @handle, which stays put when the handle changes.
How it works
What is the Twitter ID Converter?
The Twitter ID Converter is a free tool that finds the permanent numeric user ID behind an X account, or the account behind an ID. Enter an @handle and it returns the user ID. Enter a number and it returns the account's current handle, name and profile link. The ID never changes, even when the handle does.
How to use the Twitter ID Converter
- Enter an @handle, a profile link or a numeric user ID in the X handle field.
- Press Convert.
- Read the User ID and the Handle, with the account's name and a link to its profile.
- Press Copy next to the value you need.
What is the difference between a user ID and a handle?
Every X account gets a numeric user ID when it is created, and the ID stays with the account for good. The handle, the @name, is a label the owner can change at any time.
That makes the ID the safe way to point at an account in code, allowlists, spreadsheets and analytics. A handle-based reference breaks the day the account renames; an ID-based one does not.
Why convert an ID back to a handle?
Exports, API responses and logs often list accounts by ID alone. Paste an ID here to see which account it is now, under its current handle and name.
It also answers the question of what happened to an account that seems to have vanished: if the ID resolves to a new handle, the account renamed rather than left.
